Over the past three decades, there have been significant advances in our understanding of epidermal stem cell biology. These cells will be an important role in regenerative medicine due to its easy accessibility. Epidermal stem cells have been used for inherited skin disorders for a long time. It can, therefore, be speculated that it is possible to cure difficult-to-treat skin diseases in the near future. On the other hand, the aging process is based on an accumulation of the molecular damage. Decline homeostasis and regenerative process as major changes are seen in the aging process. These types of changes are associated with impaired somatic stem cell function. Epidermal stem cells are resistant to internal aging. They show no age-related changes such as increases of reactive oxygen species.
