The disorders of pigmentation can be divided  into three major group. Hyperpigmentation disorders, hypopigmentation disorders and dyschromatosis. We classify hypopigmentation disorders  based upon three major groups due to their underlying pathogenesis.  Genodermatoses, inflammatory and infectious diseases and nutritional diseases. On the other hand, hyperpigmented skin disorders in childhood divided into groups based on their morhology or pattern of involvement. In addition to these pigmented diseases, third group is dyschromatosis that contain hyper and hypopigmented lesions in same patient. Algorithmic approach will be present for common pigmentary disorders in childhood.
